New Raider Pictures
We received some great Raider pictures and
information that we are happy to share with you!
From Suzanne (Veldhuis)
Henley
Below is a photo of Weldon
Odell Stautzenberger, or as his fellow Marines called him "Stautz". He
saved my father's life on April 15, 1945 at Okinawa. Dad's name was
Cornelius "Red" Veldhuis and he was from South Holland, Illinois. I had
seen on the website where Blair Stautzenberger had sent photos in, he
may enjoy this one. Odell sent my Dad his address book from WWII shortly
before Dad passed away in 1996. If I can find it, I would like to return
it to Blair

From Cindi
Sweet Hoveland
here are a
few of the pics out of my dads photo album, the first is his 1942 Marine
Corp unit, the next is a friend that he identifies as Jonesy, but in a
letter he says he calls him 'jackson'.
The next
is identified only as 'father redmund'. [Editors
Note: As all Raiders will know, this is Father Redmond, beloved Raider
Chaplain.] The last is one that my dad took, (of the man and
dog) and then I also found it in a book of the 6th marine Division, w/o
the tree branch in it, interesting but true!
